Dr. Sara Horst and Dr. Jami Kinnucan have identified a need to improve electronic medical record (EMR) workflows in treating patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Despite progress in disease monitoring guidelines, unified EMR workflows are hard to establish and vary widely across clinical practices. Some academic centers have clinicians interested in enhancing workflows, while others lack strategies, leading to difficulties in implementing recommendations like STRIDE.

Gastro Digital Health is creating an educational platform to guide clinicians in recognizing and addressing gaps in EMR implementation. Led by clinicians who have expertise in both health IT informatics and IBD care, GDH helps healthcare centers of all sizes implement EMR workflows that enhance patient care for those with IBD.
